Unit A - No. 1 Dicks Street Apartments, Howick

Lovely! Positive: Very clean and neat. We only stopped in Howick for 1 night as part of a road trip, but it would be comfortable for a longer stay as well. Negative: The very dark exterior and back end of the property made me nervous.

Once in and settled, we enjoyed our accommodation but didn't use all the facilities. Negative: We didn't get detailed instructions to get the keys or where the entrance was. We went from shop to shop at No 1, all were closed, and didn't see the gate off the street. We asked at the garage and they told us. After hooting we were assisted by the lady but she also couldn't see the code on our booking note. Perhaps we missed a second page. We are too old fashioned to scan things to get internet access!

Great overnight stay ! No complaints Positive: It was very quaint and cute and well kept . Also felt like it was safe and the neighborhood is good. Nicely furnished and had everything you need 😊

Unhygienic, uncomfortable - I cannot recommend this apartment and I would definitely not return Positive: It is quiet and nicely decorated. It had Netflix and DSTV premium. It had nice big cooking pots. Negative: This place looks much nicer in the photos than in real life. I cannot recommend this place and I wouls never return. The cleanliness is terrible. When we arrived, there was food in the sink drain from a previous user. There is a odd smell in the apartment and the cupboards smell mouldy. The towels are damp smelling and worst of all, one of the towels smelt like cat urine - disgusting! The apartment is very old, and although it has been renovated and furnishings are nice, there are still some things that are old and grimey, like the floors. The locks are very old and it takes forever to open/ lock up. The couch is sunken on the left side, making it very uncomfortable to sit in. I did not enjoy my stay and I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
